In this role you will be delivering all aspects of Supplier Quality Assurance, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Product Failure Analysis in line with our Quality Management System and Quality Policy to ensure that the business’ products and services meet or exceeds our customer expectations. This individual will be responsible for working cross functionally with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Office, Customer/Technical Support, Engineering, Sales and Marketing.  They will lead a team to establish, implement, maintain and continually improve our processes to ensure new materials are designed to meet our quality standards and continuously supplied within specification to allow for on-time manufacture and delivery of our Lighting products to our customers.   Responsibilities - Manage, coach and develop a high performing team responsible for delivering on objectives that deliver best-in-class results. - Work with the Engineering team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure our supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements. - Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards. - Controls and leads APQP tasks such as FMEA’s, DFM, PPAP’s and Control Plans internally, and externally with our suppliers. - Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues. - Participate in daily Gemba walks and communicate relevant updates as it pertains to important quality issues and core metrics. - Work with other departments to develop plans, presentations and other materials as may be necessary to resolve quality issues and in a timely manner. - Address customer issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. - Manage Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare and communicate quality reports by leading a team responsible for collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. - Lead a team responsible for processing, reviewing, and troubleshooting defined RMA’s returned for additional analysis and communicate findings. - Responsible for managing, sustaining and continuously improving our incoming quality control processes. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. - Supervisory Duties: - Directly supervise employees in the Quality department. - Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. - Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. - Input and responsibility for expense and capital expenditure Quality budgets.   Key Attributes   - Ability to develop project and implementation plans as well as drive progress within and across departments to meet objectives according to the plan or defined timelines. - Proven leadership skills – team building, collaborating, presentation skills, strategic and innovative thinker, and self-starter with a high energy level and sense of ownership. - Extensive experience managing quality expectations of local and international OEM/ODM suppliers. - Strong attention to details.  - Summarize data and communicate findings quickly. - Ability to adjust to changing priorities and schedules to keep projects and commitments on-track. - Provide flexibility for 24x7 technical support for critical issues. - Must be able to provide timely communication across the organization on quality related matters and be willing and able to escalate those issues requiring immediate attention. - A self-starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others. - Excellent interpersonal skills. Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years’ experience in a Quality or Engineering related field or equivalent experience. - Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering; and/or suitable work experience. - Experience managing customers and suppliers. - Experience with ISO 9001 standards. - Practical experience and knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies. - Demonstrate abilities to lead in problem solving/countermeasure events where quality issues are diagnosed, discussed, and resolved. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills. - Capable of working across and influencing at all organizational levels. - Ability to project manage resources in ongoing and new projects in a fast-paced environment. - Experience with implementation of supplier corrective action programs such as 8D or A3, driving supplier CoPQ improvements. - Experience with databases and data analysis tools (Oracle, PowerBI, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.). - Including but not limited to automating data extraction, mining and visualization. - Applied knowledge of APQP and PPAP tools. - Limited travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications - Practical experience and knowledge of printed circuit board (SMA/SMT), die cast, and injection molding. - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.  ASQ certified would be a plus. - Experience driving ASQ Quality 4.0 systems. - LED or lighting industry experience.  - Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous. - Experience in semiconductor device and/or failure analysis. - Advanced knowledge of Office 365 applications, SharePoint management; automated data extraction, mining and visualization tools.   We have an outstanding benefits package that starts DAY ONE! As a Cree Lighting Assembler, you will assemble printed circuit boards through soldering, testing, and machine operating.
