We are looking for a self-motivated, hands-on technician with experience in mechanical prototyping.  As a Engineer Prototype CNC Technician machine operator, your duties will include running tests before the start of operations, programming and monitoring machines when assembling products and inspecting machinery at the end of each shift to identify parts needing repair. Central focus will be assembling, soldering, and testing LED boards in addition to special test requests. This position will work within cross functional groups consisting of electrical, mechanical, optical and manufacturing members to assemble, test and qualify electrical components as well as complete LED fixtures. SMT Operator Location: Racine, WI Shift: 1st Shift, 7AM- 3PM Monday - Friday Summary: This person will be a primary contributor to operating the SMT production line for LED lighting PCB Assembly. This position will be responsible for all aspects of printed circuit board assembly, to ensuring high quality product is delivered for top-level fixture assembly. A successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver that is able to work around technical obstacles and implement practical solutions. The SMT Operator is a core member of the Operations team and works with that team to realize world class manufacturing systems and processes.    Job Responsibilities: - Startup, set-up, operate, teardown, and shutdown assigned printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) machines - Perform daily and routine maintenance on printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) machines - Communicate with SMT Process Technicians to resolve machine and process related issues - Identify, initiate and implement continuous improvement solutions for process optimization, cost reduction, and yield enhancements - Analyze data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues - Read and correctly interpret printed circuit board documentation - Work to improve productivity while maintaining quality standards - Use and handle small hand tools for the assembly of printed circuit boards efficiently - Use microscope or other magnifying devices as is necessary to complete an assignment - Promptly and accurately complete all forms, reports or documentation required - Communicate clearly and concisely to co-workers to enable the efficient flow of the production line Use your SMT and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) skills to help create and foster world class manufacturing systems and processes, that yield superior LED luminaires.   What you need for success:  - 2+ years of experience in printed circuit board assembly - Able to perform Setup, Operation, Changeover, and Shutdown for the following SMT equipment: - Screen Printer - Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) - Pick and Place - Reflow Oven - Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) - Conformal Coating - Must be proficient in soldering (soldering skills test will be administered) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while managing multiple tasks - Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with a focused execution of tasks - Strong computer software skills and aptitude to learn new software - Attention to safety, quality, and performance - Self-Starter with sense of self-reliance and sense of urgency - Excellent work ethic with the understanding that excellence is a habit - Ability to identify potential safety and performance issues and eliminate them Job Requirements: - Ability to like 35 pounds consistently - Ability to stand consistently for a minimum of 8 hours a day - Cannot have metal implants, including pace makers, due to high magnetic charge on SMT equipment

In this role you will be self-motivated, hands-on technician with experience in electronics to support the development and testing of LED-based lighting products.  This position will work within cross functional groups consisting of electrical, mechanical, optical and manufacturing members to assemble, test and qualify electrical components as well as complete LED fixtures. A successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles and will be adept at the implementation of practical solutions.     What you will be doing:     - Support design engineering from concept through production including component test, prototype build, safety testing and system integration. - Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions. - Use test equipment including, but not limited to, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. - Assemble prototype circuit boards consisting of surface-mount and through-hole components. - Assemble and test LED boards. - Test and troubleshoot new electrical modules such as sensor, LED driver, wireless radio. - Capture oscilloscope waveforms, make power and efficiency measurements, gather additional data and provide clear, concise reports for review. - Complete tasks in creative and effective ways with minimal guidance and oversight. - Work across company functional organizations to ensure project success. - Other duties as assigned.   What you need for succcess:     - EET or AS degree or equivalent training in Electrical Engineering or other related technical field. - 5+ years experience in power and analog electronics with working knowledge of passive component testing, power semiconductor performance, thermal and EMC testing and qualification testing of electronics. - Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits with equipment such as; oscilloscopes, power meters, AC and DC power supplies and multimeters. - Proficient with MS Office tools including Excel and Word or equivalents. - Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while knowing when to ask for help.  Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Background in LED lighting and power supply.   Preferred but not required skills:   - 10+ years experience in power electronic testing and troubleshooting. - Hands on experience with EMC equipment and test protocol - Experience in LED module such as assembly and testing - Background in LED lighting complex system - Hands on experience with different serial protocols such as RS432, DALI, DMX - Hands on experience with testing wireless devices (Bluetooth, 802.11 and Zigbee) - Knowledge and experience with three-phase power system   Physical Demands:     The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     Work Environment:    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.       We have an outstanding benefits package that starts DAY ONE!
